Tesla's Cybertruck could lose a wheel while driving, 11th recall shows
Tesla's recalling Cybertrucks again—this time because wheels might separate. It's the 11th recall for the truck in less than two years.
Tesla's now on recall number 11 with the Cybertruck, and this one's honestly kind of wild. Some of these trucks could lose a wheel while you're driving. Which is, yeah. Bad.
The culprit? Wrong grease and bolts that weren't tight enough. That's it. Not some complicated software glitch or a design flaw that requires rethinking the whole vehicle. Just the wrong lubricant and nuts that came loose.
Elon Musk's angular pickup has been a magnet for recalls since it hit the road. Eleven separate recalls in not even two years. That's genuinely a lot. Each one's been something different — window issues, trim pieces falling off, suspension problems. The Cybertruck's basically been a rolling list of "oops, we should've caught that."
And wheels separating? That's the kind of problem that makes you wonder what's going on in quality control. You'd think someone would catch loose lug nuts before a truck rolls off the lot. Same goes for slapping the wrong grease on the wheel hub.
Tesla hasn't said how many trucks are affected or whether anyone's actually had a wheel come off. But if you own one of these, you'll probably want to get to a service center soon. Better safe than stranded on the highway watching your wheel roll into traffic.
