If you've been sitting on the fence about grabbing a pair of Ray-Ban Meta glasses, Meta's Summer Sale just made it way harder to say no. The original model dropped to $224.25 on Amazon, Best Buy, and straight from Meta—that's $74 off and the best price they've ever hit. The newer generation? $322.25. Also a record low.

The sale runs through May 26th and honestly, it's the biggest discount event Meta's thrown outside of Black Friday madness. So if you were waiting for a reason to jump in, this is probably it.

Here's the thing: both versions do pretty much the same job. You get hands-free 1080p photos and video, livestream directly to Instagram or Facebook, and they actually work as open-ear headphones. The sound quality's solid for music, and a five-mic setup keeps your voice clear during calls. They look like normal Ray-Bans too, which is the whole point—no goofy sci-fi vibes.

The AI assistant stuff is where things get interesting. It can translate Spanish, French, and Italian in real time if you're traveling. Need recipe ideas? Point at your fridge. It'll answer questions about buildings you're looking at, remind you about meetings, scan QR codes. The usual AI helper tricks, but through glasses.

Now, the Gen 2 model does have actual upgrades worth knowing about. It shoots 3K video instead of the original's 1440 x 1920, so your footage comes out sharper. Battery life jumped from four hours to eight hours with heavy use, which means you can actually wear them all day without hunting for a charger. That's huge if you're the type who leaves glasses on from morning to night.

But if you're just dipping your toes in and don't mind slightly lower video quality, the first-gen at $224.25 is basically a steal. Either way, you're not getting ripped off at these prices.
